I stopped watching TV a few years ago and didn't miss it much. Some of my friends think I am wacko or miss out on something in my life...*shrug* I have more time for other things that I really enjoy - hiking, biking, rollerblading, walking, reading, traveling and much more. If I want to watch TV, then I would have less time to do them. Since I stopped watching TV, I lost some weight and improved with my eating habits. If i really want to watch TV, I just go to sports bar to watch TV with my friends during football game or any other stuff...or rent movies. Only couple of TV shows I would love to watch are Jeopardy and The Amazing Race. Other TV shows are nice to watch are NCIS, CSI, CSI: New York and Bionic Woman. Anyhow, in summary, I can live without TV. 8-)

Found this article while cleaning out of my posting box. *sigh* It has been almost a year since Star Trek finally went "dark". I am trekkie fan ever since 1970's. When "Enterprise" went off-air last year, I was relieved cuz that show was horrible and in poor taste, to be frank. I really missed TNG, DS9 and VOY. I am still hoping to see some Star Trek movies if they decide on making some more. Oh, well...there is more life beyond the trekkie world. :)

Oh migosh! I started to feel nostaglia when I read this article....Believe it or not, I missed the darn snowy sign-off on TV back in 1970's and early 1980's. LOL After seeing the movie named, "Poltergeist", I made some attempts to entice the ghosts out of the TV by staring at it for long time or doing something. :) It reminds me that I have to see "Poltergeist" again someday...one of my fave movies. Loved the part where the meat crawled along the countertop and turned into maggots! :)

This article caught my attention. I find it so fantastic that there is a search engine that can locate the videos that come with closed caption feature.... More people are beginning to realize how powerful the search engine becomes to search for specific phrase, word or whatsoever in episode of TV series, therefore closed caption is a way to go! I get frustrated with AOL videos almost all of them are not closed caption. It doesn't benefit me at all. Hopefully, AOL will pick this up.

How far away from the screen are you supposed to sit from plasma, EDTV, HDTV or any large-dimension TV? I found the website that offers viewing-distance calculator. Probably just an interesting useless information. :)
